Jul 9, 2026 at 9:08 AMThe Italian CIRCLE Group has signed a framework agreement worth up to 600,000 EUR to advance the digital development of a European air freight system. The contract, with a duration of 24 months, provides for the gradual activation of specific application agreements tailored to the operational needs of the air freight community.
The agreement was concluded through the subsidiary Cargo Start, which specializes in digital solutions for the air freight sector. The aim is to strengthen the digital infrastructure and promote integrated, efficient, and interoperable management of processes related to air cargo transport. The CIRCLE Group emphasizes that the structure of the framework contract solidifies the company’s position in the air freight sector and highlights its vertical competencies in developing digital platforms and modules for complex logistics communities.
At the beginning of the project, initial activities for the development and implementation of digital modules were launched. These modules are intended to support the processes of the air freight community. Two of the four planned modules are already in implementation. Further developments are scheduled for the coming months and will be activated through specific application agreements under the framework contract. The initiatives are based on the expertise of Cargo Start and aim to support the digitization of operational processes, promote the integration of various stakeholders in the supply chain, and develop collaborative models based on interoperability, data quality, and process automation.
Luca Abatello, President and CEO of the CIRCLE Group, commented on the contract: “This framework agreement represents a significant step as it solidifies the collaborations that have grown over time and is based on the quality of the competencies our company provides.” He emphasized the importance of a long-term instrument to accompany the digital evolution of complex air freight platforms and highlighted that it is crucial to understand the needs of all stakeholders in the supply chain and translate them into concrete, scalable solutions.
This initiative is part of the CIRCLE Group’s growth strategy and aims to strengthen the digital offering for logistics hubs, air freight communities, and intermodal supply chains. This is in line with the objectives of the industrial plan „Connect 4 Agile Growth.“
