CIRCLE Group signs contract for air freight digitization
Jul 9, 2026 at 8:27 AMThe AMG Group, a provider of outdoor goods in the United Kingdom, has established a three-year customs partnership with the Customs Support Group (CSG) to address the challenges following Brexit. According to a statement from CSG, this collaboration has enabled the company to significantly reduce customs costs on re-exported goods.
Based in Port Glasgow, the AMG Group specializes in the procurement and distribution of outdoor food and sports items. Its product range includes camping equipment, backpacks, sleeping bags, and snow sports items. The company is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its Vango brand this year and primarily imports goods from Asia, which are then distributed throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
However, with the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union, the AMG Group faced the issue of „double tariffs.“ These additional customs charges, imposed during cross-border transactions, meant that items previously subject to a tariff rate of 12 percent were again charged 12 percent upon re-export. According to CSG, this situation had a significant impact on the company’s profit margins and cash flow.
To alleviate the financial burdens, the AMG Group implemented a customs warehousing solution in collaboration with the Customs Support Group. A customs warehouse allows companies, according to CSG, to store goods without having to pay import duties immediately. Additionally, no fees are incurred when the goods are subsequently re-exported. „CSG has provided strong expertise, reliability, and responsiveness throughout the entire partnership,“ said Jim McLeish, Operations Manager of the AMG Group.
