Jul 9, 2026 at 9:10 AMAnthony Ratchford, the Head of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality at Pallet-Track, has been appointed as a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). This award is one of the highest honors in the British logistics industry and is given to professionals recognized by their peers for making a significant impact through their work.
Ratchford’s appointment follows several accolades and marks the culmination of a significant project in his career. He was named Colleague of the Year at the Pallet-Track Shareholder Gala, where his crucial contribution to the company’s move to a new central headquarters at the Waterways Business Park in Ettingshall was acknowledged. This move was characterized by considerable scale and complexity, as operations from the Titan Distribution Centre on Millfields Road were relocated to a new campus that is more than twice the size of the previous site.
Ratchford stated, „The large-scale relocation required a phased transition to ensure minimal disruption to our team and operations, with eight phases meticulously planned and executed to keep the network operating as usual.“ Despite the challenges associated with a project of this magnitude, there were only a few difficulties during the process. „This was a once-in-a-career opportunity, and I am proud to have played a key role in the project while also achieving such a successful transition,“ he added.
Stuart Godman, CEO of Pallet-Track, praised Ratchford’s exceptional contribution to the site relocation, emphasizing that his positive attitude and teamwork have made a lasting impression. „Anthony goes above and beyond in every aspect of his role and, as a team, we congratulate him on these well-earned achievements,“ said Godman.
Following the move of Pallet-Track, Ratchford also earned a degree in Chartered Management Business. He attributes his success to the support and mentoring from leaders such as Stuart Godman, Gary Oliver, and Project Manager Peter Louden. „Studying for my degree has broadened my skills, helping me to gain a wider view of the business,“ Ratchford explained.
During his time at Pallet-Track, Ratchford has acquired additional qualifications, including the Certificate of Professional Competence license, a qualification for truck drivers, as well as the NEBOSH qualification in health, safety, and environment. He has also significantly contributed to improving safety in warehouses by participating in the development and installation of AI technology for forklifts. This innovative solution was awarded Safety in Logistics Initiative of the Year at the Logistics UK’s Logistics Awards 2025 and is a first step in the UK to analyze dangerous braking behavior and detect signs of fatigue in drivers.
