Jul 8, 2026 at 12:41 PMMAB Kargo Sdn Bhd (MASkargo) has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Qatar Airways Cargo. As part of this collaboration, a new freight service will be introduced, operating twice weekly with Boeing 777F aircraft, connecting the hubs of both airlines, Kuala Lumpur and Doha, via Bengaluru (India). This initiative aims to strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s role as a significant freight hub between Asia and global trade routes.
The new service on the KUL-BLR-DOH-KUL route offers an additional weekly freight capacity of 200 tons for various product categories, including general cargo, perishables, pharmaceuticals, and valuables. By combining MASkargo’s Asian network with Qatar Airways Cargo’s global reach, customers benefit from improved connectivity to key markets in Asia, Europe, and North America, with Kuala Lumpur and Bengaluru serving as central hubs.
Since the launch of the new freight operations, over 1,000 tons of cargo have already been transported, highlighting the strong demand for enhanced freight connectivity. The partnership contributes to strengthening network resilience, supports trade in Asia, and expands access to key international markets in a dynamically evolving trade environment.
Mark Jason Thomas, CEO of MASkargo, commented on the collaboration:
“This cooperation reflects our commitment to solidifying Kuala Lumpur’s position as a strategic freight hub. Through our existing network for passenger and freight flights, we continue to support freight flows in key regional and international markets. Our partnership with Qatar Airways Cargo allows us to leverage our combined strengths to provide better connectivity, flexibility, and value creation for our customers.”
