Jun 22, 2026 at 9:13 AMAir France KLM Martinair Cargo has recently introduced new AI-based features to enhance efficiency and user-friendliness in the air freight business. These developments are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at driving the company’s commercial transformation. The new AI-powered features are designed to optimize both the booking process and customer interaction.
Automation through AI
A central element of this strategy is the introduction of the auto-fill function within the myCargo platform. This feature allows customers to copy shipping information from emails or other unstructured text sources and paste it directly into myCargo. The AI system automatically recognizes and extracts relevant shipping details such as dimensions, weight, and quantity, instantly filling in the required booking fields. By eliminating manual data entry, customers can create bookings faster and reduce administrative effort.
Additionally, the auto quote function is being gradually introduced. This feature automatically generates precise spot quotes for customer inquiries received via myCargo or email. By significantly reducing response times, customers can react more quickly to market opportunities and improve their service levels.
Digitalization in the B2B Sector
The new features are part of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo’s goal to create a digital B2B customer experience that meets the demands for simplicity and intelligence. GertJan Roelands, Senior Vice President Commercial, commented on the developments:
“AI will be one of the key accelerators of the next phase of our commercial transformation. We believe that AI has the potential to fundamentally change how customers search for, book, manage, and interact with air freight services.”
The introduction of AI-powered features demonstrates how technology can simplify complex processes and improve speed and accuracy. Roelands emphasized that this is just the beginning and that AI will play an increasingly important role throughout the entire customer journey, from personalized recommendations to proactive service and intelligent decision support.
Future Developments
Air France KLM Martinair Cargo plans to develop additional AI-driven solutions that will be gradually introduced as part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and customer orientation. These initiatives aim not only to increase efficiency but also to enhance value for customers and the company.
The company, which operates as part of the Air France-KLM group, offers a wide range of reliable air freight solutions and serves over 210 destinations worldwide. The combination of technology and employee expertise is intended, according to the French-Dutch company, to help “shape the next generation of customer experience in the air freight sector.”
