Jun 25, 2026 at 9:31 AMEmirates SkyCargo has announced a strategic expansion of its cargo flight network in East and Southeast Asia. The Dubai-based air freight provider is increasing the frequencies and destinations of its main deck services to meet the growing demand for seamless connectivity between emerging and established production centers in the region and markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
According to Emirates SkyCargo, over 439,000 tons of cargo were transported on freighter and passenger flights from twelve markets in East and Southeast Asia during the fiscal year 2025/26. This represents an increase of approximately 5% compared to the previous year and reflects the rising demand from businesses and exporters in the region looking to transport their goods quickly and safely to other parts of the world.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, stated:
“East and Southeast Asia are vital production hubs for the global economy, making significant contributions to the manufacturing of high-tech goods as well as the export of perishable items. By providing additional cargo flights and expanding our cargo offerings, we are responding to customer needs and ensuring rapid connectivity so that exporters can deliver their goods promptly and safely to their end customers worldwide.”
Expansion of Cargo Flights
Emirates SkyCargo is doubling its cargo capacity at Tokyo Narita Airport and increasing the number of weekly cargo flights from one to two. The additional flight serves Japan’s strong manufacturing industry across various sectors such as automotive, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.
The airline is also increasing its flights to Hong Kong to 37 weekly cargo flights to provide maximum flexibility for customers in this export-oriented economic corridor. Furthermore, Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its cargo connections to Central China, now offering three weekly flights from Zhengzhou, connecting the industrial center of Henan Province with Dubai and beyond.
Cargo flights from Singapore have been resumed with a weekly flight that connects through Mumbai to Dubai, forming an important trade route in Asia. Additionally, cargo connections to Taiwan are being doubled, with two weekly flights to Taipei to meet the demand for transporting high-tech electronics.
The demand for the weekly cargo service to Bangkok remains strong to support the export of high-quality technical products, perishable goods, fashion, and other consumer goods. Moreover, the four weekly cargo connections to Hanoi are being maintained to provide exporters in Vietnam with quick access to Dubai and the Middle East, which is a significant market for Vietnamese exports of perishable goods.
Increased Capacities through Passenger Flights
In addition to dedicated cargo flights, Emirates SkyCargo is also utilizing the bellyhold cargo capacity of Emirates passenger flights to offer seamless, high-frequency, and high-capacity cargo solutions to industries in East and Southeast Asia. The air freight provider currently offers capacity on over 320 passenger flights per week in the region.
