Electricity demand in the German logistics sector will rise by 2045
Jun 25, 2026 at 7:36 AMThe board of the Associazione Lombarda Spedizionieri ed Autotrasportatori (Alsea), the Lombard Association of Forwarders and Transport Operators, has unanimously confirmed Pietro Vavassori for a second term as president. This decision was made on June 10 during the ordinary general assembly. Vavassori is the owner and managing director of Italsempione Spa, one of the association’s most traditional members. Alongside him, Albertina Schiavoni, chairwoman of the board of Freschi and Schiavoni S.r.l., and Mario Zini, managing director of DHL Global Forwarding Spa, will serve as vice presidents. They were also elected unanimously.
Strategic direction for the coming years
The re-election of the leadership marks the beginning of a new three-year mandate aimed at continuing to monitor regional and sector-specific challenges. Additionally, the expansion of support services for companies will be advanced. A central concern is to solidify the strategic direction through a more intensive involvement of representatives from member companies. This will be achieved by utilizing the diverse competencies within the membership base to secure an increasingly influential role for Alsea in institutional dialogues.
Particular attention will be paid to the new generations, which are considered crucial for the future development of the sector. This perspective is already reflected in the composition of the new board, which includes five representatives from the Young Group of Alsea. The topics of business development and succession will also be at the forefront of the next public assembly of the association, which will take place on June 30 under the title „Shaping the Transition, Creating the Future. Responsibility, Heritage, and Vision in Generational Change.“
Planned measures and projects
In the coming three years, various measures are planned, ranging from training to digitalization and participation in industry observations and studies. Key projects include the establishment of commissions addressing important issues in modern logistics, such as intermodality and urban distribution. Additionally, an expansion of services for members and a rebranding initiative are aimed at continuously strengthening relationships with institutions.
