May 29, 2026 at 10:10 AMRiga Airport concluded the year 2025 with a profit of EUR 4.2 million, representing an increase of EUR 0.8 million compared to the previous year. This is stated in the company’s audited annual report. The airport’s operational performance remained stable, as 7.1 million passengers and 63,000 flights were handled last year, matching the activity level of the previous year.
In contrast, air freight volumes continued to grow. The capital airport of Latvia recorded over 20,000 tons of air freight in 2025, marking a 7% increase compared to 2024. This rise was supported by higher freight volumes on regular passenger flights as well as additional cargo flight programs.
The company’s net revenue amounted to EUR 80.7 million in 2025, reflecting a 3.9% increase compared to the previous year. EBITDA – earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization – reached EUR 13.3 million, representing a 19% year-on-year increase.
In 2025, Riga Airport invested EUR 20 million in development projects, including new fire trucks, electric aircraft tugs, and drone detection systems.
Additionally, Riga Airport continued its participation in international research and innovation projects focused on developing sustainable aviation, hydrogen technologies, and low-emission solutions for the aviation sector.
Growth in the air freight segment
Strong growth continued in the air freight segment. In the first four months of 2026, Riga Airport handled 9,757 tons of air freight, which is a 61% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
