May 29, 2026 at 2:18 PMThe Lübeck Port Company (LHG) has modernized the infrastructure at the Scandinavian Quay as part of the EU-funded project „Digital Green MoS“ to optimize the ferry connection between Lübeck-Travemünde and Trelleborg. The project, which is being carried out from 2021 until the end of 2025, aims to reduce the environmental impact of traffic and increase the efficiency of the connection between the two ports, as stated by the company.
Modernization of infrastructure
As part of the project, both the access routes and the central IT infrastructure of the Lübeck port have been upgraded to the latest standards. In Trelleborg, two side ramps have been installed at berths 10 and 13, complemented by traffic monitoring and digital control systems. These measures are intended to help make port operations for the shipping company TT-Line, which regularly operates between the two ports, more stable and better planned.
The „Digital Green MoS“ project was implemented in collaboration with the Port of Trelleborg, the Lübeck Port Authority, and the shipping company TT-Line. According to its own statements, the Lübeck Port Company played a central role in two work packages focused on improving accessibility to the Scandinavian Quay and modernizing and securing the IT infrastructure.
