May 28, 2026 at 6:59 AMAlaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have merged their cargo operations onto a shared platform. This was achieved through the migration of Hawaiian Air Cargo into the iCargo system of IBS Software, a U.S. company specializing in technologies for the transportation industry. With this integration, a unified digital cargo management system is created for both airlines, replacing Hawaiian’s outdated system and expanding Alaska’s use of iCargo since 2022. The cargo policy is now standardized across the network, enabling simplified billing and shipment tracking. Customers can book, ship, and track cargo through a consolidated online portal.
Benefits of platform integration
The consolidation onto a single platform brings significant operational advantages. Real-time visibility of shipments is now consistent across the network, allowing for quicker decision-making and improved reliability for shippers and logistics partners. Export, import, and warehousing processes follow a unified workflow, reducing manual effort and minimizing the risk of errors that can occur during data transfer between separate systems. Teams from both airlines work with the same data, supporting faster responses to disruptions and stronger coordination within the network. IBS Software’s experience in managing large-scale cargo migrations was crucial in ensuring a seamless transition without interruptions to ongoing operations.
The consolidation also enables Alaska to offer its GoldStreak Package Express service for the first time in the Hawaiian Islands. GoldStreak is a service for time-sensitive shipments, including medical deliveries and urgent legal documents, thus providing valuable national service capability in a market that previously had no access to it.
“The integration of Hawaiian Air Cargo into iCargo was a logical and necessary step following the merger,” said Ian Morgan, VP of Alaska Cargo. “With iCargo as our sole platform, we have a consistent, reliable foundation that supports our operations and provides us with the scalability for future growth. This enhanced system allows us to focus our resources on delivering the exceptional service that our customers expect from Alaska and Hawaiian.”
Radhesh Menon, VP and Head of Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, stated: “Alaska and Hawaiian now operate as a single cargo network on one platform. The complexity of running parallel systems after a merger poses a real operational burden. This integration demonstrates iCargo’s ability to support airlines through complex consolidations and deliver a platform designed for long-term growth.”
