Mercedes-Benz Trucks delivers 500 “Actros L” to Vilnius
May 27, 2026 at 7:31 AMJumbo has signed a contract with Dajin Heavy Industry for the construction of two heavy-lift transport vessels. These ships will be part of the company’s new „L-Class fleet,“ designed for heavy-lift transport operations, as recently announced.
The „L-Class vessels,“ designed with a capacity of 25,000 DWT, are characterized by energy efficiency and the ability to use methanol as fuel, according to the manufacturer. Jumbo has developed these ships internally to integrate insights from previous generations and continuously evolve the fleet. Each vessel will be equipped with two „Huisman 1,200-ton heavy-lift cranes,“ providing a combined lifting capacity of 2,400 tons. The delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for 2028, followed by the second vessel in 2029.
Enhancement in focus
The new vessels feature a robust deck structure, an open deck area, and significant loading capacity, according to Jumbo. Additionally, they are equipped with a deep cargo hold. These features are a response to the changing demands of the market, which require increased lifting capacity and improved suction.
