Yusen Logistics implements operating system from cargo.one
May 26, 2026 at 10:59 AMA.P. Moller – Maersk has announced the launch of a new ocean service called „FI2,“ which aims to establish a direct connection between East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. The first westbound voyage will depart from Shanghai on June 4, 2026. According to a company statement, this service responds to the increasing demand for additional capacity on the trade route between China and India and is designed to provide importers and exporters in India with a faster and more reliable connection to manufacturing and sourcing centers in the northwest of the country.
Details of the new service
The „FI2 service“ will operate weekly with a fleet of six ships, each with a nominal capacity of 4,500 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). The port rotation includes the stations Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, and Port Qasim.
A key feature of the new service is, according to Maersk, the stop in Pipavav, a port on the northwest coast of India in Gujarat. Pipavav serves as a gateway to the „Dedicated Freight Corridor“ (DFC), a rail network that enables Maersk to offer an integrated logistics solution. The DFC rail connection ensures that cargo arriving in Pipavav can be transported inland, particularly to the „National Capital Region“ (NCR) with cities such as Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida.
