Apr 14, 2026 at 1:41 PMThe AD Ports Group has signed a framework agreement with the National Company Maritime Ports Administration SA to explore investment and development opportunities at the Port of Constanța, Romania. The Port of Constanța is considered the largest port on the Black Sea and offers strategic advantages for the AD Ports Group, as stated. This is particularly relevant regarding the so-called „Middle Corridor,“ which connects China to Europe via Central Asia.
Areas of cooperation
The agreement aims to create a platform for collaboration in various fields. These include the development of greenfield and brownfield ports as well as the implementation of digital solutions. Another focus is on promoting sustainable initiatives that concentrate on the use of renewable energy, waste management, and emission reduction.
The Port of Constanța connects Black Sea shipping routes with inland waterways serving Eastern and Central Europe. As a multimodal hub integrating sea, rail, road, and river networks, it is, according to AD Ports, crucial for facilitating regional and international trade flows. In particular, significant quantities of agricultural products, such as grain from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, would be transported through this port.
