Descartes study on AI in transport management
May 5, 2026 at 11:24 AMTurkish Cargo has extensively revamped its corporate website as part of its digital transformation strategy. The new platform consolidates information on shipping planning and operational processes in one central location, providing users with a user-friendly and mobile-compatible experience.
Optimization of Shipping Processes
The website developed by Turkish Technology, the technology subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, enables shippers to efficiently manage various processes. These include pre-booking and card-based shipment tracking. An interactive world map displays the global flight network and served destinations, while advanced filtering options allow users to directly evaluate connection alternatives. Additionally, product and equipment options for different types of cargo are presented together, supported by comparison tools. This enables shippers to create the optimal shipping plan and decide how and where the shipment will be transported.

Ali Türk, Chief Cargo Officer of Turkish Airlines, comments on the revamped website:
“Our vision is to create a digital ecosystem that transforms not only planning and booking but the entire operational mindset. This project is a first step in this direction and offers our customers speed, reliability, and accessibility while making processes for our partners in the air cargo industry more integrated, transparent, and predictable.”
The website also features a page titled “How to Send My Cargo,” which provides a practical guide and explains the entire shipping process from planning to actual execution. Users can enter their shipping details and track the progress of the transport process step by step. At the end of the process, the global sales offices and authorized agents of Turkish Cargo are involved for the actual shipping transactions.

Additionally, the website offers a page for fleet and equipment, where shippers can identify the most suitable solutions based on their needs and submit inquiries directly. An AI-powered digital assistant named Cargy enhances the user experience by providing quicker access to desired content during navigation on the website.
With the revamped website, Turkish Cargo aims to make planning and decision-making processes simpler, more predictable, and more controllable, thereby transferring its strong position in the air cargo industry into the digital realm.
