Jul 2, 2026 at 9:20 AMCPaT Global, a US provider of distance learning for the aviation industry, has announced plans to expand its training technologies and content to other safety-critical industries. The Houston, Texas-based company aims to leverage its over three decades of experience in aviation to transfer its expertise to other sectors where operational safety, standardization, and employee readiness are crucial.
Expansion into rail and mining
The first step in this expansion includes the rail and mining sectors. These industries face similar challenges to aviation, including complex operations, evolving regulations, and geographically dispersed workforces. CPaT intends to apply the technologies and methods it has refined in the aviation industry to provide scalable learning solutions for these sectors.
Dave Rapley, President and CEO of CPaT Global, stated:
“CPaT continues to lead training in aviation while simultaneously expanding the application of our proven training expertise to other safety-critical industries. Rail and mining are a natural first step for us, as the operational requirements of these markets closely align with the expertise we have developed through decades of experience in the aviation industry.”
Rapley emphasized that aviation remains the foundation of the company’s long-term strategy. “Our commitment to aviation is stronger than ever,” he added. “We will continue to invest heavily in aviation innovations, expand our training capabilities, and support the evolving needs of airlines and training organizations worldwide. At the same time, we see tremendous opportunities to apply our training solutions and operational knowledge to other industries where quality and safety performance are critical.”
In addition to rail and mining, CPaT also sees long-term opportunities to support other safety-critical sectors that require scalable training offerings, qualification tracking, and operational compliance solutions.
