Western Sydney: Texel Air also launches air freight operations
Jul 2, 2026 at 10:15 AMRoadgas Limited has unveiled plans to establish a nationwide network of bio-LNG filling stations in the UK. This initiative aims to supply the transport sector with renewable biomethane. The new filling stations are set to be built at motorway service areas and depots, enabling trucks to reduce their CO₂ emissions by over 80% compared to diesel, according to a company statement.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Pretoria Energy, a provider of bio-LNG in the UK based in Cambridge. By the end of 2026, twelve new filling stations are planned along key freight routes. Fleet operators can benefit from various advantages, including lower fuel costs, a range of approximately 1,000 km per tank, and 24/7 access to the filling stations, according to Roadgas.
Payment models and support for fleet operators
The offering from Roadgas and Pretoria Energy also includes flexible payment models, such as a mileage-based billing system. Additionally, support will be provided for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to manage the maintenance and diagnostics of fleet vehicles and maximize their availability. With the expansion of the filling station network, bio-LNG will be made available at strategically important motorway corridors and depot locations. This is intended to enable transport companies to access a low-carbon fuel that contributes to reducing the environmental impact of the transport sector.
