May 27, 2026 at 8:57 AMThe Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced an investment of 46 million euros to expand the road hub in Duiven, Netherlands. This measure aims to increase freight capacity and support the company’s growth in the international parcel and freight market, as stated by the company.
The investment includes the procurement and development of an adjacent facility that is expected to significantly enhance the capacity of the existing road hub. According to Safia Ladhari, Vice President of Network Operations at FedEx, the Duiven hub is one of the largest and most technologically advanced locations in the company’s European network. She emphasizes that the strategic location of the hub and its full connectivity to other FedEx locations in Europe play a central role in delivering the European service offering.
FedEx aims to grow in the premium air freight segment. According to Ladhari, the European road network plays a crucial role: „It allows us to efficiently transport intercontinental air freight across Europe by road and complement our air operations,“ says the Vice President of Network Operations at FedEx.
