Lübeck: Schwarz rises

The Lübeck Port Company (LHG) has granted power of attorney to Jan Schwarz, who has been responsible for marketing and sales since the beginning of the year. This decision aims to strengthen the company’s strategic market positioning and support the targeted expansion of new cargo segments.

In recent years, LHG has established itself as a significant player in the RoRo and ferry business as well as in forestry products. At the same time, the company’s cargo spectrum has expanded significantly. Today, in addition to traditional goods, breakbulk, heavy cargo, steel and project cargo, as well as bulk goods are handled. The terminals in Lübeck and Travemünde serve as integrated logistics locations that link transshipment, storage, processing, and hinterland connections.

Expanded responsibilities for Jan Schwarz

Schwarz emphasizes the importance of the RoRo and ferry business for LHG:

“Our foundation remains the RoRo and ferry business. At the same time, we are continuously developing the terminals to reliably handle even the most demanding project and heavy cargo traffic. This versatility is a central component of our positioning as a universal port.”

With the power of attorney, Schwarz now also formally receives expanded responsibilities. His tasks include not only traditional sales but also securing existing strengths of LHG and specifically targeting new cargo segments. LHG Managing Director Prof. Dr. Sebastian Jürgens explains: “Jan Schwarz is actively working to position the terminals accordingly in the market.”

The Lübeck Port Company mbH is the largest RoRo port operator in the Baltic Sea. Its four port terminals offer high-frequency sea traffic in the Baltic region. The loading units are consolidated and connected to the hinterland through efficient systems. LHG is a partner of the paper, steel, and automotive industries and is part of the „Port of Lübeck“ network.
