This direct data integration allows freight forwarders to plan, book, confirm, and manage shipments in real-time through the leading logistics platform CargoWise.
By joining this program, American Airlines Cargo aligns itself with a growing group of international air freight providers that have implemented direct integration with CargoWise. This represents an important step in the digital transformation of the organization and aims to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the supply chain by replacing manual interventions with seamless processes.
American Airlines Cargo transports freight daily between major cities in the USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Asia. The airline offers a variety of products and handling options within its national and international network, supporting shipments ranging from life-saving pharmaceuticals to perishable goods and e-commerce on one of the largest passenger networks in the world. This includes temperature-controlled services available in over 180 markets.
The direct data connection to American Airlines Cargo enables CargoWise customers, including 23 of the 25 largest global freight forwarders, to access American Airlines‘ flight schedules, rates, capacities, and bookings. Additionally, digital bookings can be easily modified without leaving the CargoWise platform.
Roger Samways, Vice President Commercial of American Airlines Cargo, stated: „With a global network operating over 180 international wide-body aircraft daily during the peak summer season, American Airlines Cargo provides the scalability and reliability our customers need. Our seamless integration with CargoWise brings this network directly into customers‘ workflows, reducing complexity and facilitating access to capacity and business transactions with American Airlines Cargo worldwide.“
Jorre Cobelens, Vice President – Logistics Data, AI and Connectivity at WiseTech Global, emphasized the importance of the North American air freight market, which is the second largest in the world. He said: „American Airlines Cargo is one of the pioneers paving the way to eliminate manual processes as the supply chain moves towards greater efficiency, accuracy, and agility. We are pleased to support their digital strategies. The direct data connection also supports the ONE Record standard of IATA for data exchange.“
