May 20, 2026 at 8:28 AMTrans Global Projects (TGP) has strengthened its presence in the United Kingdom by appointing Richard Jones as the new Global Sales Manager. Jones will be responsible for business development in the UK market and brings over 30 years of experience in project logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain management. His professional background includes leading complex, technically demanding, and time-critical projects on an international level.
Expansion of customer support
Jones’s appointment aims to enhance the quality of customer support in the UK. Customers will gain early access to his project logistics expertise, particularly during the planning and bidding phases. This is intended to enable clearer alignment between commercial commitments and operational realities, providing solutions based on realistic implementation and risk management. At the industry level, this initiative promotes closer collaboration among logistics providers, contractors, and engineering teams involved in complex project supply chains.
Jones commented on his new role: “My focus is on supporting customers at an earlier stage of project development, as logistical decisions made during this phase have the greatest impact on costs, risks, and timelines. Customers are looking for partners who understand how projects are actually executed, not just how they look on paper. My job is to translate project intentions into actionable, transparent, and reliable logistics solutions.”
Strengthening senior engagements
Michael Andrews, Managing Director of TGP in the UK, emphasizes that Jones’s appointment raises the level of senior engagement for customers in the UK market. “Richard brings experience that customers will directly benefit from. His ability to engage early, challenge assumptions, and create actionable solutions supports a more consistent transition from the concept phase to execution,” said Andrews.
Colin Charnock, CEO of TGP, adds: “Early alignment between disciplines remains crucial for successful project completion. When commercial, technical, and operational considerations come together at the right time, projects run more smoothly. This role supports a transparent and collaborative approach among customers, contractors, and logistics partners.”
Richard Jones will operate in both the UK and Australia and will work closely with TGP’s international offices and partners to support existing customers and develop new project opportunities.
