Jul 8, 2026 at 12:18 PMAccording to the Aviation Safety Network, Pakistan’s K2 Airways reported an incident involving one of its cargo aircraft on July 7, 2026. The Boeing 737-400 with the registration AP-BOI has been reported missing since the afternoon. Flight KTA1732 took off at 15:02 UTC from Sharjah Airport (SHJ) in the UAE and was en route to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi (KHI), Pakistan.
According to available ADS-B data, the aircraft reached an altitude of 10,668 m (FL350). At 16:17 UTC, the aircraft, which was on air route G216, began a right turn and initially continued to climb before entering a descent. In the following minutes, a loss of altitude of approximately 1,700 m was recorded, followed by a further climb of 2,200 m before a steep descent occurred.
The crew reported a problem with the navigation system during the flight and requested assistance from air traffic control. According to a statement from the Pakistan Airports Authority, the flight reported a navigation system issue at 16:18 UTC. Subsequently, the aircraft was directed by the Karachi Area Control Center. At 16:21 UTC, the aircraft was observed on radar entering a rapid descent and changing direction. Shortly thereafter, both radar contact and communication were lost.
The aircraft had a total of five occupants on board. No further information regarding potential injuries or the circumstances of the incident is currently available. The location of the aircraft is reported to be approximately 155 nautical miles west-southwest of Karachi, in the Indian Ocean.
