Logistical Support for cycling races
In addition to the Tour de France, XPO Logistics also supports the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. This edition will include the Mont Ventoux for the first time, which is considered a challenging stage. The 113th Tour de France runs from July 4 to July 26 and features 184 riders from 23 teams. Participants will cover a total of 3,321 kilometers over 21 stages, passing through seven regions and 29 departments in Spain and France. The kickoff takes place in Barcelona, where the team time trial of the first stage will be held.
To ensure the smooth running of the races, XPO Logistics reports that it deploys 45 trucks and 56 drivers. These transport the necessary infrastructure from stage to stage. Each truck will cover thousands of kilometers during the tour, including loading and unloading operations as well as race organization. The average distance for departing trucks is 2,786 kilometers, while arriving trucks will cover an average of 2,592 kilometers.
