Jun 18, 2026 at 8:01 AMIdwal has initiated a partnership with Daiwa Kisen to provide data-driven fleet analyses through independent inspections of selected vessels in the fleet. This partnership, announced on June 18, 2026, focuses on bulk carriers and a container ship, with the possibility of adapting the program to meet Daiwa Kisen’s needs in the future, as stated by Idwal.
The collaboration aims to enhance the condition monitoring of the vessels and enable technical decision-making. According to Idwal, the standardized inspection method creates an overview of the vessels‘ condition. Each inspection provides a data-driven assessment that facilitates the comparison of conditions between different ships, time periods, and peer groups.
Technological support
At the heart of the cooperation is the „Idwal ID Platform.“ This platform transforms the results of the inspections into accessible insights that are available at both the ship and fleet levels. This enables Daiwa Kisen to analyze the performance of the vessels internally as well as in comparison to the market. Furthermore, maintenance activities can be prioritized more effectively, and improvements can be tracked over a longer period.
