Alpha Trains expands “EURO6000” fleet with Stadler
Jun 18, 2026 at 9:46 AMJetZero laid the foundation for its first production and final assembly facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, on June 15, 2026. This new factory, covering an area of 743,000 square meters, will receive the largest incentive package ever offered by a U.S. state to a startup. Over the next ten years, 14,500 jobs are expected to be created here.
The model produced there, the Z4F, also offers a special solution for the air freight market. With a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles (9,260 km) and a high payload, the Z4F provides an efficient solution for the growing demand for timely delivery. The all-wing design allows for better economics than traditional long-haul cargo aircraft and is also competitive for shorter distances.
Optimal integration into existing infrastructure
The Z4F is designed to seamlessly integrate into the existing airport and freight infrastructure. This means that no additional investments are required from shippers. The use of the same containers and improved route economics allows for increased efficiency while simultaneously reducing operating costs.
The air freight market is expected to grow by 70% over the next 20 years. The Z4F offers cost-effective growth for various air freight routes and creates new opportunities for businesses that rely on fast deliveries.
Economic impact and regional significance
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein expressed positive sentiments regarding JetZero’s decision to build in his state. He described the move as a vote of confidence in the state’s workforce, universities, and community colleges, as well as in North Carolina’s long tradition of aviation. Stein emphasized that the 14,500 new jobs and the investment of $4.7 billion will transform the region for generations.
Tom O’Leary, CEO and co-founder of JetZero, stated that the decision for North Carolina was not surprising, as the state is known as „First in Flight.“ He highlighted the state’s vision of becoming a global center for aerospace and stated that JetZero shares this vision. The company plans to revolutionize aviation by developing an all-wing design aircraft that meets the industry’s need for more efficient airplanes.
Technological innovations in manufacturing
The production facility in Greensboro will be equipped with advanced digital and AI-based platforms developed in collaboration with Siemens and Deloitte. These technologies enable engineers to create a complete digital twin of the factory before construction begins. This allows processes to be tested and adjustments to be made virtually, providing a rare flexibility in the aviation industry.
Ann Fairchild, President and CEO of Siemens USA, emphasized that the partnership with JetZero demonstrates how modern industrial technologies can contribute to the reindustrialization of America. The digital twins will help realize the next generation of manufacturing facilities faster and with greater confidence.
