May 18, 2026 at 9:22 AMThe AD Ports Group (ADP) is advancing the construction of its new container terminal in Pointe-Noire (Republic of the Congo). The company recently awarded three contracts for the construction of the necessary maritime infrastructure to be run by its subsidiary Noatum Ports.
This phase addresses the terminal facilities on land itself, as well as plans for the delivery of new cranes. The total volume of the contracts amounts to approximately USD 200 million. The project is being developed as part of a joint venture between ADP and CMA CGM, through the latter’s subsidiary CMA Terminals. It is based on a 30-year concession with the government of the Republic of the Congo.
Initially plans foresee a 420 m quay with a draught of 16 m, as well as a logistics area covering 100,000 square meters. Additionally, three ship-to-shore cranes and nine RTG cranes will be delivered. The hybrid technology of the RTG cranes is expected to significantly reduce diesel consumption. ADP anticipates a construction period of around two years. The terminal aims to strengthen Pointe-Noire’s role as a logistics hub for Central and West Africa and could create up to 9,000 direct and indirect jobs.
