Thomas A. Kazakos (center), Secretary General of ICS, expressed his pleasure at the inclusion of the Polish Shipping Association: “Poland’s significant maritime presence plays a crucial role in global trade and logistics. We look forward to collaborating on common challenges such as decarbonization, safety and welfare of seafarers, and digitalization.” Kazakos emphasized the need for the industry to work together to find global solutions that ensure the sustainability and efficiency of shipping for future generations.
Marcin Talwik (left), Director of the Polish Shipping Association, described the membership as an important step in strengthening the international representation of Polish shipowners. He stated: “Joining ICS allows Polish shipowners to participate directly in global decision-making and gain access to strategic knowledge and best practices.” Talwik highlighted that the joint membership of the Polish Shipowners’ Association (ZAP) and the Polish Shipping Companies Association (PZPZ) in ICS underscores the unity and global ambitions of the sector.
ICS includes national shipowner associations from over 40 countries and territories in Asia, Europe, America, and Africa, representing the majority of the global merchant fleet.
