Global trade flows disrupted by conflicts
Apr 20, 2026 at 8:52 AMThe demand for vinyl records in the United Kingdom remains high, leading to increased throughput for DP World. On this year’s ‚Record Store Day,‘ more than 210,000 records were delivered from the logistics centre in Bicester, approximately 20% more than the previous year. More than 230 new releases reached music stores nationwide on April 18.
The warehouse is considered the largest physical music distribution centre in the country. In 2025, a total of 8 million vinyl records were processed there, more than one million more than the year before. Since its opening in 2023, the volume has totaled over 15 million units.
In the final quarter of 2025 alone, more than 7 million audio products passed through the 25,000 m2 warehouse, including nearly 3 million vinyl records. Overall, the site distributed over 21 million music products last year. In addition to growing demand, automated order picking also contributes to the facility’s ability to handle these volumes.
