STRABAG has signed a contract with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA for the modernization of a section of railway line 201 in Poland. The project includes the renewal and expansion of railway infrastructure over a distance of more than 31 kilometers between Maksymilianowo and Wierzchucin. The total value of the project amounts to approximately 255 million euros, and the construction period is set for 32 months from the signing of the contract, as reported by STRABAG.
Modernization measures
The project is part of the modernization of the line between Maksymilianowo and Kościerzyna and connects to the ongoing work at the railway junction in Maksymilianowo. The modernization aims to enhance the technical performance of the railway line, which will be achieved, among other things, through the design and installation of signaling and train control systems as well as telecommunications infrastructure.
In addition to the renewal of the track infrastructure, a new track will be constructed at the Błądzim station to enable additional connections. The construction works also include the building of three new signal boxes in Stronno, Serock, and Błądzim, as well as several underground structures. The measures are intended not only to increase the capacity of the line but also to improve speeds and optimize connections to the seaports in the Gulf of Gdańsk.
