Mar 5, 2026 at 4:03 PMThe Willis Lease Finance Corporation has appointed Marilyn Gan as Head of Origination for the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, she will lead the origination activities for the provider of leasing solutions for large and regional commercial aircraft engines based in Florida, as well as for the funds managed by Willis Aviation Capital. Gan brings extensive experience in structuring financing and equity transactions, as well as in building strategic partnerships in the aviation industry.
Previously, she served as Head of Asia-Pacific at Vmo Aircraft Leasing, where she was responsible for the regional strategy and origination activities in the APAC market. She began her aviation career as Senior Legal Counsel at BOC Aviation, where she was responsible for the documentation of aircraft financing and leasing transactions worldwide. Additionally, she held various leadership positions at DVB Bank SE, including the role of Managing Director and Regional Head for Aviation Finance in the Asia-Pacific region.
Craig Welsh, SVP and CCO of Willis Lease Finance Corporation, spoke positively about Gan’s appointment: „Marilyn brings exceptional industry knowledge, deep regional relationships, and a proven track record in aviation finance and leasing.“ He emphasized that her leadership experience and comprehensive understanding of origination, risk, and transaction structuring will be crucial for the growth of the company’s platform.
Gan is also engaged outside of her professional role and is a board member of the Advancing Women in Aviation Roundtable (AWAR). Previously, she served on the board of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), highlighting her commitment to promoting diversity in aviation.
