LogiMAT Trade Fair Postponed from Mid-March to Late May 2022
Nov 29, 2021 at 7:06 PMThe Southeast Asian edition of transport logistic and air cargo will take place from September 13 to 15, 2023, at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. MMI Asia, the regional subsidiary of Messe München, announced the dates together with key industry representatives on-site, including Changi Airport Group, SATS Ltd, and DHL Express. The recent market introduction complements the leading logistics trade fair cluster, which includes India, China, Turkey, the United States, and the world’s largest logistics event and parent fair in Munich.
(Munich/Singapore) On November 15, 2021, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and MMI Asia signed a memorandum of understanding to hold the Southeast Asian edition of the transport logistic and air cargo fair every two years in Singapore starting in 2023. The fair partnership includes the development of new content, program and exhibition components, joint marketing and promotional activities, as well as collaboration on the exchange of industry knowledge.
Michael Wilton, Managing Director of MMI Asia, says: “In a disruptive world, the logistics industry must adapt, change, and remain flexible to meet the extraordinary demands that global economies have placed on this industry. The new event provides key market players with the opportunity to exchange ideas, make new contacts, and learn about the latest trends and best practices in the industry. For shippers who must deal with the ever-changing demands on their distribution and logistics networks, the event offers unparalleled access to the best solutions and services available on the global market.”
The new fair will include a high-level conference focusing on specific topics and issues within the logistics ecosystem. Under the central theme “Integrated Logistics for a Disrupted World,” the conference and training sessions will address challenges and offer solutions for companies to continue to succeed in the future.
Right Time for Presence in Southeast Asia
Lim Ching Kiat, Managing Director, Air Hub Development of Changi Airport Group, comments: “Air freight plays a key role in global trade and supply chains – its importance was further highlighted during the pandemic through the delivery of essential products and medical supplies. In the future, Southeast Asia’s share of global air traffic is expected to continue to increase, with global freight hubs like Changi playing a key role in this. Therefore, it is precisely the right time to launch the transport logistic and air cargo fair in this region of the world with its own edition. As an important air freight hub, but also as a location for significant conferences and fairs in the region, we are pleased that the event will be hosted here in Singapore and wish much success for the launch.”
