DSV and dm Use State Visit for Contract on Sustainability
Nov 11, 2021 at 6:12 PMThe pfenning logistics group expands its service portfolio through the strategic acquisition of the full-service logistics provider HTH Logistic Solutions GmbH. As of July 1, 2021, the pfenning logistics group took over the company 100 percent. With this merger, the companies respond to the increased demand for fulfillment logistics services in the textile sector and e-commerce, aiming to create synergies in their service offerings.
(Heddesheim/Nettetal) pfenning logistics diversifies its services through a strategic acquisition and expands them into new target industries. The merger with the Lower Rhine-based HTH Logistic Solutions took place retroactively on July 1, 2021. A corresponding contract was signed in October 2021. The logistics service provider specializes in core areas such as logistics fulfillment, fashion logistics, and logistics for startups, boasting more than 20 years of experience in these fields. At the Nettetal location, 60 people are employed. Under the leadership of Managing Director Marc Ternieden, the company has developed unique competencies in fashion and e-commerce logistics, ranging from interface, online shop, and returns management to traditional warehousing services.
In future collaboration, the two companies aim to pool their competencies and offer services, particularly in the area of promotional logistics. “We complement each other excellently because we share similar values in our culture and in our dealings with partners. At the same time, Marc Ternieden’s team brings specialized competencies that allow us to flexibly meet consumer needs together,” emphasizes Rana Matthias Nag, Managing Director of pfenning logistics.
Positive Commonalities
Marc Ternieden highlights the positive commonalities between the two companies: “As an owner-managed company with flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes, we have found a partner in pfenning logistics that is compatible with our values.” HTH Logistic Solutions will continue to operate under its own market presence and retains its team and location. A positive aspect of the collaboration is the flexible availability of personnel, which pfenning logistics can provide for peak workloads through its own personnel services. The capacities in transport logistics also benefit the Nettetal medium-sized company, enabling it to offer better distribution, particularly to retail customers.
Strategic Realignment Received Positively
“Both our partners and our team have received the strategic realignment positively. They appreciate the stability and the new opportunities that the merger offers. We see additional value in the potential to further develop in the areas of innovation, digitalization, and ecology with a strong partner by our side,” adds Marc Ternieden.
Martin Königstein, a member of the management board at pfenning logistics, takes on strategic responsibility and represents the interests of HTH Logistic Solutions within the pfenning logistics group.
On its growth path, the pfenning logistics group had already acquired the Sonima Group in July 2021, thereby enhancing its value-added services for the automotive industry.
