(Hamburg/Ivry-sur-Seine) Körber expands its technology portfolio with autonomous forklifts and tow tractors from BALYO to overcome the complexity of the supply chain. Körber and BALYO will jointly offer state-of-the-art technologies for autonomous material handling vehicles worldwide. As a developer and integrator, BALYO bridges the gap between conventional lifting technology and autonomous mobile robots. This includes forklifts, tow tractors for towing applications, pallet trucks for ground and low-profile pallet movements, as well as reach trucks for high racks. Thanks to the PL-d-compliant safety sensors and the proprietary “Driven-by-BALYO” technology for autonomous operation, the robots can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes without the need to adapt or expand existing infrastructures.
Robot Technology Facilitates Handling
Today, companies are already relying on robotics to prepare for future challenges in material flow. The partnership between Körber and BALYO opens up new opportunities for them. The integration of robot technology significantly facilitates the handling of loaded pallets, bulk goods, and heavy items. The result is increased flexibility, agility, and scalability, which effortlessly enhance throughput and productivity during company growth.
Work safety and employee efficiency also benefit from autonomous forklift robots. Intelligent safety and stop-and-go functions create a safer working environment. Any obstacles are detected in real-time, allowing the devices to autonomously brake or evade. Missing employees can be compensated through automation. Existing personnel are not replaced but can focus on essential tasks.
Complementing Competencies
“We are very pleased about the collaboration with Körber. Through it, we can further expand our network to meet the local and global demands of our industrial and logistics customers. Körber’s expertise in intralogistics and its global presence are an ideal complement to our competencies and facilitate the implementation of BALYO complementary solutions for our customers,” says Pascal Rialland, CEO of BALYO.
Nishan Wijemanne, Global Leader AMR/Robotics, Körber’s Supply Chain business unit, adds: “Flexibility, adaptability, and precision are crucial in the supply chain today. The partnership with BALYO emphasizes that we want to offer the right solutions for exactly that. Robotics takes intralogistics to a whole new level of performance. The combination of our expertise with BALYO’s unique solutions enables companies around the world to tackle the major challenges of our time and seize future opportunities by evolving with the demands of their customers and industry.”
