Jul 7, 2026 at 9:22 AMSaudia Cargo has announced the expansion of its fleet with four Boeing 777-200 freighters. This measure is part of a strategic plan to double the dedicated cargo fleet and enhance the company’s operational capabilities. The initiative supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 as well as the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
The new freighters are expected to expand Saudia Cargo’s operational capabilities and enhance the company’s global network. This will enable the company to meet the increasing demand for air freight services and provide greater value to customers and partners. Additionally, it will strengthen the company’s role as a link between the Kingdom and global markets.
The first new Triple Sevens are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, while the remaining deliveries are scheduled for 2027. These new aircraft will increase Saudia Cargo’s capacity and support the company’s reach across four continents to keep pace with the growth of global trade.
Strategic partnerships and performance record
Eng. Loay Mashabi, CEO and Managing Director of Saudia Cargo, commented on this expansion: “This announcement represents a strategic milestone in the development of Saudia Cargo and reflects the long-term vision we initiated years ago to enhance our capabilities and expand our global presence.” Mashabi emphasized that the addition of the four new freighters is the first step in this phase and reinforces the values the company offers to its customers and partners.
Omar Arekat, Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing in the Middle East at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, described Saudia Cargo’s order as evidence of the unmatched performance and versatility of the Boeing 777 freighters. He highlighted the long-standing partnership between Saudia Group and Boeing, which has lasted for over 75 years.
Last year, Saudia Cargo recorded strong operational performance, serving over 90 destinations and transporting more than 570,000 tons of cargo. The company also achieved continuous growth in revenue, national exports, and e-commerce. With an on-time performance of over 90 percent and several IATA CEIV certifications as well as ISO certifications, the Middle Eastern airline demonstrates a solid foundation for the next phase of global growth.
