Jul 2, 2026 at 7:45 AMThe CMA CGM Group has announced the acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., at an enterprise value of $1.4 billion. This transaction, which is expected to close in 2026, will expand the North American contract logistics activities of CEVA Logistics, a subsidiary of CMA CGM, according to a statement from FedEx.
Expansion of logistics activities
With the acquisition, CEVA Logistics‘ capacity in North America is expected to nearly triple, according to FedEx. The company emphasizes that this decision reflects its long-term commitment to the U.S. supply chain and accelerates its strategy to provide integrated logistics solutions. The integration of resources from FedEx Supply Chain, which includes approximately 10,000 employees, is intended to position CEVA Logistics as a significant player in the contract logistics sector in North America.
The merged company will have approximately 150 warehouses and will increase CEVA’s total number of employees in North America to around 20,000 across more than 240 locations. Following the completion of the acquisition, CMA CGM and FedEx plan to enter into several trade agreements in the air and ocean freight sectors. CMA CGM will serve as FedEx’s preferred ocean freight partner and will provide ocean transport and freight services under an agreement. Additionally, the companies intend to collaborate on certain air freight capacity solutions to optimize their global networks.
