Jun 12, 2026 at 8:31 AMOn June 10, 2026, the CMA CGM Group, its logistics subsidiary CEVA Logistics, and the Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery Auto signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term strategic collaboration in the field of automotive logistics. The agreement was made at Chery’s headquarters in Wuhu, China, and aims to support Chery’s international expansion as well as strengthen the company’s global supply chain capabilities.
The partnership will combine CMA CGM’s extensive expertise in global shipping and logistics solutions with CEVA Logistics‘ cross-border operational capabilities. This is intended to assist Chery Auto in implementing its localization strategy and further expanding in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America, and the Middle East. The agreement covers logistics for finished vehicles, auto parts, and batteries for electric vehicles (EV). The integrated solutions include both national distribution and international transport, as well as complex multimodal operations.
Strategic partnership to strengthen supply chains
Amélie Humphreys, General Manager of CMA CGM China, emphasized the importance of strong transport and logistics partnerships in an increasingly complex global automotive market. She stated:
“By combining CMA CGM’s global maritime and logistics network with CEVA Logistics‘ expertise in automotive logistics, this collaboration will help enhance the resilience and efficiency of Chery Auto’s international operations.”
Eric Dessupoiu, Vice President for Finished Vehicle Logistics at CEVA Logistics, added that managing complex, multi-market automotive supply chains is crucial for Chery Auto. CEVA will leverage its comprehensive logistics capabilities to build the resilient and efficient supply chain needed.
Chen Chunqing, Executive Vice President of Chery International, also commented on the partnership. He stated that the combination of CMA CGM’s global shipping and logistics capabilities with CEVA Logistics‘ expertise in automotive logistics will improve local market responsiveness and strengthen supply chain performance.
The collaboration will enable Chery Auto to better address the needs of local markets while promoting robust, localized, and future-oriented supply chain ecosystems.
