Air freight strengthens Italy’s export economy
Jun 11, 2026 at 8:29 AMTecon Suape S.A., the container terminal operator in the Suape Industrial Port Complex in Recife, Brazil, has commissioned a new container scanner to enhance security processes and increase operational efficiency. The new Linev DTP 7500LVX scanner is designed to optimize the inspection of containers and support faster processing of cargo for shipping companies, cargo owners, and logistics firms in the region.
The introduction of the scanner is expected to improve the coordination of port cranes and terminal tractors by reducing equipment idle times and maintaining a continuous flow of cargo. Thomas Jefferson de Lima, CEO of Tecon Suape, stated:
“The new scanner allows us to inspect cargo more efficiently while meeting all compliance requirements. It is part of our ongoing investment program to provide our customers with safe, reliable, and high-quality services.”
Optimization of operational processes
The strategic positioning of the scanner near the berth is intended to improve traffic flow in the terminal and minimize unnecessary truck movements. The X-ray technology used enables the generation of detailed images of container contents without the need for a physical inspection. This is expected to reduce truck turnaround times and increase scan productivity by up to 40%.
The system allows operators to identify irregularities in the density and structure of the cargo, facilitating faster screenings and targeted inspections. By highlighting material differences, X-ray imaging helps detect undeclared or suspicious cargo while minimizing delays in container release.
The investment strengthens compliance with customs and security requirements and supports Tecon Suape’s strategy for continuous improvement of operational processes. Furthermore, customer satisfaction is enhanced by addressing the growing demands for speed, reliability, and efficiency in terminal operations.
