New York’s Microhubs for the last mile
Jun 5, 2026 at 8:46 AMGEODIS has announced the establishment of its first multi-service port center in Le Havre, France. The new location is situated in the heart of the country’s largest container port and aims to provide the company’s customers with an end-to-end solution for their import and export activities. This was communicated in a press release from the company on June 4, 2026.
According to GEODIS, Le Havre plays a central role in French foreign trade and is the largest container port in France, handling over 3.2 million containers in 2025. The port offers connections to more than 700 ports worldwide, thus serving as a gateway for international trade. GEODIS’s new hub is set to function as the company’s first integrated port node in France.
Integration of business areas
The Le Havre hub will unite GEODIS’s four business areas at one location. These include distribution and express parcel delivery, international freight forwarding by sea, air, and rail, as well as road transport and contract logistics. This integrated structure is designed to enable management of the entire supply chain, from goods handling to final delivery. By bringing these services together in one place, processes are expected to be optimized and disruptions in handling reduced.
