Jun 3, 2026 at 2:45 PMThe Dutch logistics group Ewals Cargo Care is acquiring the Vos Transport Group. The merger of the two family-owned companies will create a provider for multimodal full-load and part-load transport services operating across Europe. The transaction is still subject to antitrust approvals.
With the acquisition, Ewals Cargo Care is particularly strengthening its activities in the part-load transport segment. At the same time, the Vos Transport Group gains access to the Europe-wide multimodal network of Ewals Cargo Care and can expand its services in the area of general cargo and part-load transport more rapidly on an international scale.
Both companies intend to continue investing strategically in their fleet, trailers, handling terminals, and digital systems. The focus will also be on sustainable transport solutions, including the use of electric and hydrogen trucks as well as the expansion of multimodal transport corridors. The further development of digital platforms for customers, partners, and employees is also set to be accelerated.
“By pooling our strengths, we create new opportunities for customers and partners and build together an even more efficient European network,” is quoted from CEO Bram Ewals in a company statement.
The Vos Transport Group will continue to operate independently in the market and will take responsibility for the part-load business within the expanded corporate group in the future. This is intended to ensure continuity for customers and employees as well as a gradual integration.
After the completion of the transaction, the combined group will employ around 3,500 employees and achieve an annual turnover of approximately 850 million euros. The company positions itself as one of the larger family-owned providers of multimodal transport and logistics services in Europe.
Ewals Cargo Care was founded in 1906 and operates a Europe-wide network for multimodal transport solutions with a focus on the combination of road, rail, and short-sea transport. The Vos Transport Group, headquartered in Deventer, has been active in the European transport business since 1947 and has a strong network in the area of part-loads, distribution, and sustainable transport solutions.
