Schmitz Cargobull increases stake in Freighter Group
Jun 1, 2026 at 12:18 PMThe VELUX Group and the LOTS Group have launched a collaboration to advance the electrification of logistics in the European transport network. According to a statement from the companies, this partnership aims to develop a scalable model for the deployment of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on a 1,250 km round trip, which is expected to be one of the longest BEV corridors in Europe. The initiative was started in May 2026 and includes a pilot phase in which the operational and financial feasibility of BEVs in specific transport flows will be examined.
Analysis and planning through AI-powered platform
As part of the collaboration, the LOTS Group utilizes its AI-based logistics platform called „Pathfinder.“ According to the company, this platform enables a comprehensive analysis of routes, fee infrastructure, transport data, and operational constraints. By applying scenario modeling and data analysis, the partners can evaluate various strategies for electrification. The goal is to minimize implementation risks and develop plans for deployment.
