Airlink supports Ebola relief in Central Africa
May 29, 2026 at 2:18 PMThe shipping company A.P. Moller – Maersk has taken delivery of the container ship ‘Tema Mærsk’: the vessel was built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in China and is fitted with a dual-fuel engine from the Swiss engine manufacturer WinGD.
The engine in question is an ‘X82DF-M/E’ model, which can run on methanol and is also designed for use with ethanol. The unit is part of WinGD’s ‘X-DF-M engine platform’, which was developed for operation with different fuels.
Maersk had ordered the engines in 2023 for a series of six container ships, each with a capacity of 9,000 TEU. With the X82DF-M/E, WinGD is expanding its range of methanol engines to the 82-bore class, thereby addressing further ship types and areas of application.
