Shippeo has strengthened its position in the field of real-time transport transparency with the acquisition of Logward. The company, which has been helping logistics providers and shippers manage their operations for over a decade, is now integrating Logward’s solutions into a unified platform. This connection allows transport events to be transformed into automated actions in real-time, improving the responsiveness of supply chain teams and reducing manual work.
Strategic Acquisition to Strengthen AI-Driven Operations
The acquisition of Logward, a Hamburg-based company with over 80 employees in Europe and India, follows the launch of Shippeo AI last year. This acquisition expands Shippeo’s capabilities to assist customers in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and automation in their transport operations. The integration aims to make supply chains more interconnected, responsive, and automated.
According to a study by Gartner, only 15% of supply chain organizations have achieved measurable returns from AI initiatives. Many companies continue to struggle with fragmented systems and unreliable data. This leads to 80% of supply chain executives identifying the availability and quality of data as the biggest hurdle to the success of AI.
By combining Shippeo’s SLA-driven visibility with Logward’s AI-driven workflows, customers can build automations on a solid foundation of trustworthy, real-time transport data. This enables them to identify issues early, prioritize actions based on their impact, and optimize collaboration between carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Evonik Industries, a leading specialty chemicals company, utilizes both Shippeo’s and Logward’s solutions and is considered a pioneer in the transformation of supply chains.
