May 5, 2026 at 2:54 PMOn April 17, 2026, the Uzbek cargo airline My Freighter expanded its fleet with a new aircraft. The Boeing 767 freighter is the tenth plane of the airline. It is named after the prominent Uzbek writer Abdulla Qodiriy (1894-1938), whose birthday was also celebrated last month. With this naming, the company continues its tradition of naming aircraft after outstanding historical figures of Uzbekistan.
Qodiriy is considered one of the founders of modern Uzbek literature. He was not only a writer but also a playwright and public figure. His most famous works include the novels „Oʻtkan kunlar“ (Bygone Days) and „Mehrobdan chayon“ (Scorpion in the Pulpit), which are regarded as classics of Uzbek literature. In his writings, Qodiriy addressed themes of national identity, enlightenment, and social development, leaving a lasting impact on the cultural heritage of the country.
The initiative for the naming was launched on April 9 by Centrum Air when the first aircraft was named in honor of Amir Temur’s birthday.
With the new Boeing 767, which carries the registration number UK67022, the total number of aircraft for both airlines increases to 26.
