May 5, 2026 at 7:28 AMThe Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA) has signed an agreement with Orbitworks Satellites Manufacturing – L.L.C. – S.P.C. to secure Earth observation services through the Altair satellite constellation. This cooperation was officially announced during the „Make it In the Emirates Forum“ in Abu Dhabi, as stated by the company.
According to ADMA, the partnership enables it to expand its digital services as well as research activities in the maritime ecosystem, mineral exploration, and environmental monitoring. The use of satellite-based technologies is expected to particularly support port management and monitoring. This aims to achieve real-time transparency regarding ship traffic, port infrastructure, and coastal activities.
Research and monitoring opportunities
The implementation of these technologies aims, according to the company, to improve operational efficiency and situational awareness in the maritime environment. The data obtained is intended to enhance the quality and speed of research as well as data-driven decision-making in coastal and offshore environments.
