Recently, the naming and launching ceremony for the new tugboat „BISAN MARU“ took place. The event was organized by SEAGATE CORPORATION, a subsidiary of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (known as „K“ LINE), and was held at the KANAGAWA DOCKYARD in Kobe City, Hyogo. The vessel is scheduled to enter service at the port of Mizushima in August 2026, according to the company.
Technical features
The „BISAN MARU“ is equipped with a conventional diesel engine propulsion system that uses marine fuel oil. However, according to company information, it is the first Japanese tugboat equipped with a biofuel mixer as well as an ultrasonic hull protection system.
