Apr 21, 2026 at 8:53 AMThe British subsidiary of the ECS Group, Globe Air Cargo UK, has entered into a partnership with the Latvian airline airBaltic. This collaboration aims to optimize the load factor of airBaltic flights from the United Kingdom and to open new routes to destinations in the Baltic region as well as other European areas, according to the ECS Group.
Responsibility for cargo capacities
Since early March, Globe Air Cargo UK has been responsible for managing the belly capacity of 17 weekly flights that airBaltic operates from London-Gatwick (LGW) to Riga (RIX) and Tallinn (TLL). Additionally, starting June 2, 2026, two weekly flights from Aberdeen (ABZ) to Riga will be introduced, while services in Manchester are expected to resume on December 13, 2026. airBaltic’s fleet consists of „A220-330 aircraft,“ which are suitable for transporting mail, e-commerce goods, as well as general cargo and pets.
„This new GSSA contract with airBaltic offers a real win-win situation. It opens up cargo capacities to key destinations in Europe and particularly to the Baltic regions that were previously not served from the United Kingdom,“ said Jean Ceccaldi, Chief Executive Officer of the ECS Group.
