CargoBeamer has extended its intermodal connection from Liège (Belgium) to Northern Italy, reaching Parma. The route, which has been operated between Liège and Domodossola since January 2026, now reaches the Cepim terminal in Parma without any stops. This directly connects important logistics and food locations.
The frequency remains the same with six weekly round trips. BLS Cargo continues to handle the traction. Various loading units can be transported, including craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers, refrigerated trailers, containers and tank units.
With this expansion, CargoBeamer strengthens its trans-Alpine network. The goal is to expand combined transport and shift more freight from road to rail. The system also enables the rail transport of non-craneable trailers and contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions.
