SolarDuck has established a high-level advisory board to advance the development of underwater technology. The Dutch company, specializing in offshore floating solar technology, aims to accelerate the integration of its solutions in the areas of carbon capture and storage (CCS) as well as offshore energy through the expertise of the board.
The advisory board initially consists of two experienced industry professionals who will provide strategic advice and technical insights. Koen Burgers, CEO of SolarDuck, commented on this step: “This advisory board represents a significant advancement in our vision to develop sustainable energy systems in the offshore sector. In particular, we see the opportunity to provide sustainable and reliable energy as well as communication solutions for underwater facilities.” Burgers emphasized that the expertise of the members is crucial to tailor SolarDuck’s technology to the specific requirements of these applications.
Composition of the Advisory Board
The board includes Neil Kavanagh (photo), an internationally recognized energy expert and former Chief Scientist at Woodside Energy, a leading natural gas company in Australia. Additionally, Tore Moe, who currently serves as Vice President Geomarkets and Senior Energy Advisor at Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), will be part of the board. Both bring extensive experience in operational and strategic roles as well as in technology development.
This initiative underscores SolarDuck’s commitment to promoting sustainable offshore energy systems. The company is expanding its strategy in large-scale solar energy by utilizing its Offshore Floating Power Hub (OFPH) to reliably and sustainably power remote offshore and underwater facilities.
