CV International and its subsidiary Capes Shipping Agencies have recently appointed new executives to promote the customer-focused growth of the companies. The Norfolk, Virginia-based company announced that Cary Hagen and Bobby Scott have been promoted to key leadership positions.
Cary Hagen as Chief Commercial Officer
Cary Hagen takes on the role of CCO at CV International. In this expanded role, he is responsible for the commercial strategy, sales, business development, marketing, and customer success. His main tasks include deepening relationships with existing customers and expanding the company’s reach in key growth regions. Hagen, who joined CV International in 2024 as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, brings over 30 years of experience in global logistics, port operations, and supply chain management.
Bobby Scott appointed President of Capes Shipping Agencies
Bobby Scott has been appointed President of Capes Shipping Agencies and will be responsible for the overall strategy, operations, and performance of the company. He reports directly to the CEO and will lead the company’s efforts to expand its geographic presence, enhance service capabilities, and deepen partnerships in the areas of dry and liquid cargo, breakbulk, and energy infrastructure. Scott brings more than 27 years of experience in port and shipping agency and has been a key member of the Capes leadership team since 2020.
Expansion of the Leadership Team
In addition to the appointments of Hagen and Scott, Peter Hansen has been promoted to VP of Operations at Capes, while Kevin Briggs has been appointed VP of Technology for both CVI and Capes. Bill Smith remains VP of Business Development and Sales at CVI, and Steve Hagen retains his position as VP and General Manager of Capes.
