Jan 7, 2023 at 5:37 PMThe international transport and logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss has acquired Rentschler Transport + Logistik, based in Altensteig, Northern Black Forest, effective January 1, 2023. With the 100% acquisition, 80 employees will transition to Gebrüder Weiss. Both parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.
(Lauterach/Altensteig) “The service scope and location of Rentschler provide ideal conditions for the network expansion we are pursuing in southern Germany. Especially in the triangle of our Baden-Württemberg branches in Aldingen and Esslingen, shippers from industry and trade will benefit from bundling effects in transportation,” explains Werner Dettenthaler, Managing Director of Land Transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss.
“Under the umbrella of Gebrüder Weiss, our growth prospects and opportunities for development are expanding. With this strategic step, our customers gain access to a broader range of services as well as connections to the global network of an established full-service logistics provider,” adds Andreas Rentschler, Managing Director at Rentschler Transport + Logistik. The freight forwarding company specializes in groupage, partial, and full-load transports in Baden-Württemberg and operates a logistics terminal in Altensteig.
Continuation of growth in southern Germany
With this acquisition, Gebrüder Weiss takes another step in its growth strategy in southern Germany. The location in Altensteig, situated 60 kilometers south of Stuttgart, complements the existing southern German land transport locations of Gebrüder Weiss in Esslingen, Aldingen, Lindau, Memmingen, Nuremberg, Straubing, Waldkraiburg, and Passau.
