LIFE FIT’s intermodal expansion
Apr 15, 2026 at 10:23 AMThe Swedish Club has published a new guide addressing stress management for seafarers in high-risk areas. The crew leader titled „Managing Stress in High-Risk Areas“ was developed as part of the Club’s „Check Your Pulse Wellbeing“ initiative and is designed to provide crews with practical assistance. The aim is to recognize and manage the effects of prolonged stress to ensure safe operations on board, as stated by the Swedish Club.
Challenges in high-risk areas
The guide responds, according to the company, to the specific challenges maritime teams face in high-risk areas. These deployments are often associated with sustained pressure and uncertainty, which can negatively impact sleep, concentration, mood, decision-making, and energy levels. The Swedish Club has recognized that these factors can significantly impair crew performance.
To assist seafarers, the guide offers a range of practical advice. This includes strategies to improve communication among colleagues as well as limiting repeated stress reports that can cause additional stress. Additionally, simple breathing and movement techniques are introduced to help reduce tension.
